No matter how late I go to bed or how many drinks I’ve had, I always make sure I take off my makeup at the end of the night. Why? Because I’m not ratchet disaster… #WhoYouCallinUncouth. Leaving your makeup on prevents your skin from renewing itself at night which will slowly turn you into Larry King. Also, you’re basically asking for a breakout #Zits #BlackHeads #CloggedAssPores #CraterFace. You get the picture… and it’s an ugly one.
I’ve used store bought makeup removers and it’s like that Clint Eastwood movie, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Plus, do you really know what you’re putting on your face?? The answer is most likely no, but you think, Hey these multimillion dollar cosmetic companies only want to do what’s best for me and my skin. Unfortunately no, and you can google some of the ingredients to see that it’s a bunch of shithousery going on with what’s in this stuff. A quick tip never put anything with alcohol on your face unless you’re actually going for the Larry King look #DryAF. In my case, I’m not.
If you’ve read my facial serum post, you’ll recognize some of the ingredients in my natural makeup remover. It’s only a few ingredients and not only will they remove your makeup, but it will also nourish your skin.
Note: This natural makeup remover can only wipe off the makeup from your face and not the mistakes from your soul.
Natural Makeup Remover
⅛ cup of carrier oil (avocado, grapeseed, almond)
7 drops lavender
5 drops frankinsense oil
5 drops carrot seed oil
3 drops vitamin e
Put your cotton pads in a small glass jar. Always store theses types of oils in glass as they can seep into plastic and metal is a big no no for essential oils. Mix all liquids together and pour into glass. Let the cotton pads absorb the liquid. If you don’t have all of these essential oils, it’s fine, just add what you have but double the amount i.e. you only have lavender, so add 14 drops.
You can increase or decrease the recipe depending on the jar you have. Store in a dark place like a medicine cabinet….or your soul (JK lol – nothing can survive in there).
