I cannot open Facebook without seeing a buttload of pumpkin pie spice recipes. As I am a sick person, I always read comments…and I am always annoyed/angered by people’s stupid comments and then my husband is annoyed because I will rant about these people that I will never meet. Don’t even get me start about the comments in Tasty videos!!
So what does this have to do with pumpkin pie spice? Well those comment threads usually have the question, Where do I buy pumpkin pie spice? Answer: this blog. Don’t buy something that you can easily make yourself. I looked up two spice brands online and both of their ingredients list had extra bs stuff in it. I also realized that Columbia House isn’t a spice brand, but reminding me I grew up in the 90s.
Anyway, the recipe to make your own pumpkin pie spice is simple and you can make as much or as little as you need for your 1000000000 pumpkin recipes.
Pumpkin Pie Spice
3 parts cinnamon
1 part ground ginger
1 part ground nutmeg
0.5 part ground cloves
What do the parts mean? If you’re using tablespoons, put in 3 tbs of cinnamon, 1 tbs of ginger, etc. So this way, you can make how much you like — genius, I know…
Sprinkle this powdery autumn delight into hot beverages, put it into desserts, pancakes, in the bath….jk to the last one, but I mean, I’m sure it would smell pretty great. I’m also going to post a few recipes using the pumpkin pie spice in the coming weeks.
