Have you ever heard of castile soap? Yes, well not everyone has so I’m going to quickly go over it anyhow. It’s basically one of my fave natural products to use. It’s a plant-based, natural soap that come in liquid or solid. I have the liquid and you can use for so many different things. I used it most recently in the all purpose cleaning spray.
Now I’m doing it for a 2-in-1 hand and face foaming soap. Who doesn’t appreciate that?! Inefficient slow pokes probably…
I use Dr. Bronner’s which I think is the most popular. It comes in different scents. You can buy it online at places like Well.ca or find it in health food stores. I actually found a few bottles yesterday at Winners (Marshall’s for the Americans).
This hand and face foaming soap is a triple threat and not because it can sing and dance and do some third thing. It’s #1) natural, #2) a 2-in-1 and finally #3) you can recycle those Bath and Body Works hand soap form pumps. I mean, who doesn’t have a bunch of these at home?! Those don’t make it for you? Well you’re a cashier. Just kidding – gotta insert my daily dose of Seinfeld humour.
You can easily customize this soap with the essential oils you add..or don’t (but really you should because it’s way better if you do). And it’s easy to refill for cheap. There you go. A quintuple threat!
Hand and Face Foaming Soap
1 cup distilled water
¼ cup castile soap
5-10 drops essential oils
Foam soap dispenser
Pour it all into the dispenser. As I said, I just reuse the Bath and Body Works ones since I have a bunch. My favourite essential oils to use are lavender, citrus scents, and tea tree. These are all anti-bacterial and/or anti-fungal, which is great for whatever grossness you have on your face and hands. But also, all of these are really good for cleansing your face and good preventative skin care whether you have a zits, wrinkles, or the dreaded combo of both.
I make two at a time and keep one in storage and then when you run out, you have it ready in a pinch. This literally takes 3 minutes to make. Took me 5 as I also had to take photos to show you I’m legit.
